Why You Should Promote Residual Affiliate Programs

If you are a webmaster looking for another source of income but have no product to sell, affiliate marketing can be the best solution for you. Affiliate programs are very popular now a day. Almost all big companies are having their affiliate programs.

In affiliate marketing you just promote other peoples’ products. You just get paid commission on every sale of the product that happens to be from your affiliate link. You just need a blog or a website to show-case your affiliate products along with related content.

Joint of affiliate programs is almost free. When you join an affiliate program, the affiliate merchant provides you with a special affiliate link code from which they trace the sales and visitors.

Affiliate marketing is association between a merchant and affiliates. As an affiliate it becomes your duty to advertise the product and direct traffic to merchant website so that you can earn money from commissions.

There are hundreds of affiliate programs available for you to promote. But you have to select the products carefully. These products need to be useful and in demand. Lots of good affiliate networks exist where you can sign up with different merchants. Be aware, some merchants may accept or deny your application depending upon their terms and geographical considerations. But this is not a big issue.

As far as payment of commission is concerned, it varies depending upon product to product and from merchant to merchant. Some merchants pay one time commission for the same product and other can pay a residual commission so long as the customer you referred to merchants continues. The commission can vary from 15 per cent to 75 per cent. Digital products fetch a high commission whereas electronic goods, books, cloths etc. have low commission. If you are able to promote high ticket items, your commissions can be quite high even from a single sale.

Apart from commission bearing products, there are other affiliate programs which pay residual income or on CPA (cost per action) or CPL (cost per lead) basis. Credit and loan related programs pay per lead basis i.e. on the basis of per form filled by an interested lead and their rates of payment are also lucrative.

It all depends upon you what kind of program you choose to promote whether it is a residual program or one time commission payment-type program. Whatever program is, all you have to bear in mind is that the program is good, has demand and has good payment history. These facts can easily be verified at various forms meant for the purpose.

All said and done, residual programs are worth trying. If we promote a bunch of residual affiliate programs on a regular basis, they provide different streams of income. Given the benefits, one must give a try to residual income affiliate programs.
